Another “special” Albert Lucking Chapter Convocation ! This time to Exalt Father and Son in a Double Exaltation
Ceremony, in to Essex HRA and to our Chapter in particular.
This special occasion was attended by over 20 Royal Arch Companions at Saxon Hall on the 26th October 2019 to witness
this unique event in the Chapters History.
It was also the very first time the Chapter had met on a Saturday morning; all adding to the remarkable atmosphere. Special
invited Guests of the Chapter included Grand Officers, E Comp Andrew McLeod (Chapter APGP on a private visit), E Comp
Ian Simpson who read the Exaltation Ceremony Narration and E Comp Norman Lawrence who ably acted as PS with musical
accompaniment provided from guest Organist E Comp Roger Galton- Davis.. Companions then enjoyed a most excellent
Festive Board at Saturday Lunch time !
Danehurst Chapter
75th Anniversary Celebration
n the 11th September 2019
Othe companions of Danehurst
Chapter held a special celebratory
meeting marking 75 years since the
consecration of the Chapter in 1944.
The meeting was attended by E.Comp
Cliff Thoms, Deputy Provincial Grand
Superintendent, E.Comp Andrew
McLeod, Assistant to the Provincial
Grand Principals, and E Companion
Phillip Campbell Essex Third Principal.
They were escorted by E.Comp
Geoff Turpin, Provincial Grand
Director of Ceremonies , and two Principals of the Chapter , E Comps Reg Sheppard , Peter Robbins and Tom Kelly with E Comp Cliff Thoms
Provincial Grand Chapter Stewards. E Comp Andrew McLeod E Comp Phillip Campbell and members of the Provincial Royal Arch Demonstration team.
The Chapter Scribe E , John Mansfield , gave an explanation of the circumstances which had lead to the decision to petition for
the formation of the Chapter during a time of war and arrangements for its subsequent consecration by the then Provincial Grand
Superintendent E Companion Dr Douglas Turner CBE and other members of the Provincial Royal Arch Executive . He regretted that
he had been unable to determine what was served at the subsequent festive board but as this took place during wartime rationing
he doubted that it would have matched the fare served at the consecration of Danehurst Lodge some 20 years before.
He ended the history by observing that it was fitting that those of the present should give honour to those of the past who created
and built the traditions of the Chapter. In a still changing world may we remain unchanged, and like the bleak mountain which bears
its crest with dignified composure to the coming tempest and fearlessly presents its bosom to the midnight storm may our faith and
our tenants remain until time shall be no more.
A demonstration by members of the Essex Provincial Grand Stewards Chapter entitled “Added Drama within the Degree” then took
place to the approval of all who were present.
