Lambourne Lodge 3945 - Centenary Meeting

n the 18th September, the Provincial Grand Master, the RW.Bro. Rodney L. Bass OBE., graced the Temple at Loughton to
celebrate the Centenary of Lambourne Lodge 3945. Accompanied by members of the Provincial Executive, including his
ODeputy, VW.Bro. Paul Reeves and two APGM in the form of W.Bro’s Peter Hollingsworth and Tony White. There were nearly
40 attending, including RW.Bro. Sir Neil Thorne, W.Bro’s. Brian Tierney, and Cliff Thoms.
By established custom the acting WM., W.Bro Ron Marsh, opened the lodge in due form, before the Provincial GDC announced the
imminent arrival of the “Boss”, who was duly admitted, but he graciously declined the offer of the gavel.

The Acting WM., drew the attention of the Brethren to the names of the Consecrating officers and the Founders, and their contribution
to the world of Freemasonry was acknowledged.
The meeting continued with the reading of the original warrant, following the Provincial Grand Secretary W.Bro. Philip Lovelock,
reading out the new Centenary warrant, which was duly passed to the PGM., who passed it to the WM., who passed it to the Secretary,
for safe keeping!
The Treasurer promised to make a donation to the 2022 festival in the sum of £2500, to which the PGM expressed his grateful
thanks and regaled us with latest figures from the forthcoming event.
After the necessary libation the whole party, sat down to a main meal of Middle Skate and it was unanimously agreed to be a good
choice. The usual wines were taken followed eventually by the Toasts. The PGM addressed the WM, who responded in a reflective
manner. The toast to the visitors was given by Bro. Tony Everett, who reminded us that without our guests Lambourne would have
floundered years ago. The response was given by Bro. Mike Higgins who himself had once been a coerced WM. The acting IPM,
guest W.Bro Terry Rogers, was also actual IPM at the 75 anniversary meet. A successful raffle was held and added to the sum for the
2022 Festival.
