he Deputy Provincial Grand Master VW Bro. Paul Reeves attended St Michael’s
Lodge on Saturday 5th December to present a 50 year certificate to W.Bro
TAlbert (Bert) Cartwright, who had been Master of the Lodge twice, a ProvAGDC
in 1987 and who still holds office as Chaplain. The Lodge, Bert was also presented
with a 50th lapel pin.
Also present was W.Bro. John Gold who had celebrated his 101st birthday just two
days earlier. He was Master in 1988 but as age caught up with him he could only
attend when his son-in-law (who lives in Spain) was back in the UK and was able to
take him.
At the meeting of Essex Provincial Stewards’ Lodge in October, the RW ProvGM, on
learning that Bro. John was in attendance at the age, then, of 100 had not received
any preferment since 1996, gave him a Field Promotion to PPGSwdB. Bro. John
witnessed the Lodge’s youngest member, Bro, Kerry Downes aged 25 years, being
Passed to the 2nd Degree.

It was a very enjoyable meeting with a Passing and an Initiation and some excellent
work being undertaken by the younger
brethren an the lodges’ new banner proudly
on display.

Brian Reginald Bloomfield
Colcestria Lodge 7123

olcestria Lodge 7123 were honoured and delighted to receive W.Bro
CTony White, Assistant Provincial Grand Master, to their meeting on
26th October 2019.
The APGM had a very busy but enjoyable evening when he presented
W.Bro Brian Bloomfield (centre) with a 50 Year Certificate. David was
initiated into Colcestria Lodge on 22nd February 1969 becoming Master of
the Lodge in 1984. He was also a founder member of Meridies Colcestriae
Lodge 9715 and was WM of that Lodge in 2011 and 2012. A plaque was
also presented to Brian to commemorate his 50 Years in Freemasonry by
the Worshipful Master W.Bro Eric Miller (left).

The APGM was also pleased to present a Grand Lodge Certificate to Bro
Dean Hill.
