Hamilton Court
For all of you who are keeping up to date with the progress at Hamilton Court, I am pleased to say that the programme for
replacing all the kitchens is on budget and on time. We are now two thirds through and just the ground floor to complete.
After more meetings between myself and the MHA, I am pleased to report that from May 2020 we will start a programme to
upgrade the bathrooms to wet rooms at a cost of approx. £160k. Prior to this we will start on decorating the communal areas.
We have decided or should I say prompted by W.Bro Lee Taylor, to ask if there are any decorators amongst you who would be
prepared to give up a weekend to repaint the lounge area. I am sure that if we get enough we can crack it out in a couple of
days. Paint, Tea and bacon sandwiches provided. Plus knowing the residents plenty of homemade cakes. If you can help please
contact the Secretary W. Bro Chris Gunn who will co-ordinate the works
Over the past 6 months we have enjoyed a talk by Mark Smith on the V.C. followed by a Fish and Chips supper, Halloween Party
with ghost stories and Magic, Birthday parties and much more.
The committee decided this year to present a badge to all Lodges and Individuals who are current Patrons of the Charitable
Association and our sincere thanks must go to the Essex Masons( Graeme Lockwood, take a bow) who arranged for the
manufacture of the badges and very kindly donated them to us. We will, in due time, make sure that those who qualify receive
the badge.
