Support Local Charity
Stondon Massey Lodge 7881 made a presentation of a £4,000
cheque to Sam’s Place, a charity based in Harlow that provides
opportunities for social interaction and development for young
people with a disability.

Letter from Buckingham Palace
Ron is a 97-year-old member of Canute Lodge No3104, who
through the coronavirus has been very restricted in his movements
received a wonderful pick up letter just before the 75th VE Day.
It was from Buckingham Palace personally addressed and signed
by the Colonel of the Regiment (Duke of York) Grenadier Guards
(The Queen is the Colonel in Chief) It was sent to all Regimental
Association members who served during the war.
Ron served in the Grenadier Guards from 11th June 1942 to 15th
February 1947.
After 15 weeks at the Guards Depot Caterham he went to

Buckingham Palace where twice he was presented to the Queen
and once to Prince Phillip.
Before joining Canute Lodge, he was a member of the Epping
Lodge No.2077 from 1.5.1953 until the warrant was handed in
September 2018. He was Master twice and held many Offices
including Treasurer for 15 years.
