Essex Cornerstone Lodge aims
Provide a gathering place for past & present members, who are
already part of a working Lodge, giving familiar surroundings
and an added sense of belonging. Increase Masonic education &
experience of all present and past club members.
Create a fun, young and vibrant lodge, offering different experiences to those that progressive/
working lodges could offer, and allowing past members to have a strong link to the club in Book
perpetuity. Now!
Encourage and support young Masons in their masonic journey, promoting early involvement
in their Lodges and the Craft generally. ‘I’ve been Patron of the Essex Cornerstone Club since
it began. I’ve watched the club grow to become the foundation for so many young Essex
Freemasons in that time.

Lewis at Belmont Lodge 9623
elmont Lodge No. 9623 celebrated a “first” on 15th January this year. W.Bro. Phil
BSmith-Jones (left) installed his son, W.Bro Oliver in to the chair of King Solomon.
Records show that this was the only occasion a father has initiated, passed, raised and
installed his son within the history of the lodge.
34 members and their guests enjoyed a wonderful Burns Night themed festive board,
where W.Bro Graeme McCormack addressed the haggis to the dulcet tones of a bagpiper.
APGM W.Bro John Davies was in attendance and addressed the assembled throng after
W.Bro Phil sang the Master’s Song. W.Bro Ollie is an active member of Cornerstone and
engaged in the initial stages of founding a Cornerstone Lodge
Ashingdon Lodge 9026
A unique occasion at Ashingdon Lodge 9026 when W.Bro. John Berwick initiated
his son Bro. John Berwick Jr. into Freemasonry with the assistance of his brother,
Bro. Robert Berwick who is the Lodges Junior Warden, which was witnessed by
nearly 50 members and guests at Rochford Masonic Hall.
