Boar’s Head Another Success
even Kings Lodge No 2749 hosted the Boar’s Head meeting
Son Friday the 30th November this year and as usual it was a
very special event with over 140 attendees including the Right
Worshipful Provincial Grand Master and many members of his
team. Indeed, W.Bro Tony White Assistant Provincial Grand
Master, carried out the ceremony of Initiation for two of the
lodge’s newest candidates.
The meeting, organised by the Chairman of the Square at Upminster, W.Bro Peter Banks, enabled the brethren to enjoy themselves immensely whilst also
raising a lot of money for charity and providing toys for unwell children. Several hundred toys were donated by those attending the meeting which will be
distributed to Harlow, Queen’s, Basildon and Broomfield hospitals before Christmas to cheer up the children who have to be there. In addition to the toys,
nearly £3,000 was raised for the MCA Trust, a charity formed to assist children with brain related tumours.
A 6 piece brass band played during the evening and accompanied the brethren as they sang Christmas Carols.
While singing the “Twelve Days of Christmas” the brethren at each table stood in turn to sing their “day” and
it must be said that the PGM was one of the most enthusiastic vocalists!
It goes without saying that the food at the
festive board was excellent, as was the
company and atmosphere throughout the
evening.
