       ZIP WIRE CHALLENGE
Six brave Essex Mark Men returned to the quarries one bright and sunny
April Saturday, but this time it wasn’t for work but for pleasure.
These intrepid Mark Men were there to complete a zip-line challenge fund-
raiser for the 2030 Essex Mark Festival, at Bluewater in Kent, a former quarry.
The idea was first suggested by Dave Todd, who had previously taken part
in a wing walk for charity. He asked for willing volunteers, and they came
       forward willingly, although with trepidation.
The Keystone Fliers team consisted of our Deputy Provincial Grand Master,
                                                                          2030 Essex Mark Festival
                                                                          2030 Essex Mark Festival
John Finlay, Provincial Secretary Paul Busby, Deputy Secretary, Geoff Newman, Media Manager
Dave Todd, Shop Manager Steve Joslin and Les Irving (amputee). They were also supported
by their families and friends, to make the event more enjoyable, and relaxing for
                                   some of the fliers.
Sponsorship for the event had been running for a few months and the group
recently announced that over £6500 was raised.
