Albert Lucking Lodge 2717

50-year certificate

W.Bro. Tony White APGM attended the Albert
Lucking Lodge during Saturday 20th November
2021 to present a 50-year certificate to W.Bro.
James (Jim) Messenger. The presentation
consisted of the APGM sitting down with Jim for
a delightful 20-minute chat, discussing his years
in the craft.
Jim was initiated into the Albert Lucking Lodge during the 20th
March 1971. He never went through the chair of the Lodge
but, was a founder member of the Waytemore Castle Lodge
8920 (Herts) and became its master during 1985. Jim also was
part instrumental in the designing of the Waytemore Castle
Lodge banner.

Even though he lived in Royston, he was a regular visitor to the Albert Lucking until recent years when life became
a little more difficult for him to get around.

The evening was further heightened by Jim, the longest serving member, witnessing the initiation of, who was
to become, the youngest serving member Bro. Trevor Sadler. The pre-amble was given to the charge and an
outstanding presentation of the 1st degree tracing board concluded the ceremony.

Festival 2022 Donation

Being in attendance at the regular meeting of the Albert Lucking
Lodge 2717 on Saturday 20th November 2021, W Bro. Tony White
APGM was presented by the WM, W Bro. Paul Field, on behalf of all
the members, a cheque for £6000 towards the Festival 2022 appeal.
The APGM in thanking the lodge also had the pleasant duty to
announce that the lodge had now achieved Platinum Patron status.
