The Square
Celebrate front line workers
A big thank you to the NHS
A big thank you to the NHS
On the 5th July 2021, the Square at Upminster was all set with a full day of events to say thank you to our
NHS, Social Care and Frontline Workers.
The flag unfurling and toast went ahead as programmed on that date but the thank you lunch was forced to be
postponed because of government restrictions introduced prior to the event taking place.
Not to take this lying down, the Square decided to hold the lunch at a future date once restrictions were lifted,
to show that just because the 5th July had passed, our gallant workers had not been forgotten and were still very
much in our thoughts.
On the 5th September 2021 the Square opened its doors and welcomed 96 visitors (Masons and non Masons) who
wanted to take part and raise a glass in recognition of the ongoing and valiant efforts of our NHS, Social Care and
Frontline Workers.
The lunch was well received and the food, as always, was of exceptional quality, plentiful and reasonably priced.

On Saturday 2nd October
2021, Lucton Lodge 3353
hosted only its second meeting
of the new decade and its
first since the resumption, at
Loughton Masonic centre in
the Province of Essex and its
first as a Saturday Lodge since
a change in the lodges by-laws
and a busy meeting it was.

January 2022.
Now having held its first Saturday lodge meeting in its 112 year history from meeting on a Monday, Lucton Lodge
wishes to go from strength to strength and this is already proving fruitful as we had our first initiate in 5 years.
Bro Joshua James Clarke a candidate for the Cornerstone club was ably initiated by his father W.Bro Colin Clarke
who had the honour of carrying out the ceremony after the WM humbly vacated the chair of KS in his favour. The
lodge was assisted by its guests whom generously took office most notably W.Bro Robert Hollier PPJGW who
carried out the Charge after initiation, and the lodge is looking forward to its next meeting in November where we
have another young candidate for initiation. "No Candidates for years then two come at once". This is exactly what
is needed for the lodge to be perfect.
