STIFFORD HEATH LODGE No.8327

CELEBRATE 50 YEARS

On Saturday the 27th November 2021 the Stifford Heath Lodge
celebrated a 50 year milestone. 46 Brethren including one founder,
the RWPGM, members of the Lodge and other distinguished guests
were in attendance, for the very special meeting to mark 50 years.
W.Bro. Trevor Day was Installed as the 51st Master, and received a
Grand Patron certificate from the Provincial Grand Master for their
Festival 2022 support. An abridged History was given by four members
of the Lodge, together with an explanation of modification of the Lodge
Banner.

The meeting itself was a success, but it was highlighted when W.Bro. Chas Elliott APGM surprised our remaining
founder W.Bro. Harold Wood by giving a praisee, of W.Bro. Harold’s life including his 70 years devotion to
Freemasonry, and then presenting him with his 70 year certificate and lapel badge.
Not to be outdone the RWPGW then gave W.Bro. Harold a field promotion to PPSGW. There cannot of been many
occasions in Freemasonry where a founder with 70 years’ service has attended the 50 year celebration of the Lodge
of which helped found.

On Saturday 27th November 2021 the
lodge had the privilege of receiving W Bro
Clive Rees PSGD APGM to present to W
Bro John Rowland PPJGW, the Chaplain
of the lodge, his 50 years in Freemasonry
certificate and Pin badge.
W Bro Clive then recounted WBro Johns
offices and service to freemasonry in general
and the lodge in particular, highlighting John's
work in project managing the refurbishment
of Loughton Masonic Hall.

After which the celebrations continued at the
Festive Board culminating with W.Bro John
recounting the more humorous times in the
past and looking forward to eventually taking
to the backbenches in the future.
