                                 PGM Foreword

Today I want to share with you part of my vision for Freemasonry in Essex and
to ask you for your help to make it possible. - I often ask any brother, why did
you become a member? The answer is always different. Maybe you joined out
of curiosity, perhaps you wanted to join friends who were already members
                               – perhaps a few of you thought you might find the holy grail. Frankly I’m a
member of most of the other orders and it ain’t there!

But that doesn’t really matter. You love your Freemasonry; you appreciate what
it gives you - and you enjoy everything that you get out of it.
4 - Provincial That makes you an Ambassador for Freemasonry, you are its greatest advocates. We have almost 8,000
people just like you who are members. You are all the people who make it possible that we could thrive
                               as an organisation.
8 - Charity Across Essex there are hundreds of men looking for purpose, looking to put something back into their
community. We need to reach out to these men and let them know what Freemasonry offers.
We need to tell them that we will teach them life skills - becoming a better public speaker, show them
       16 - Almoner
how to work as part of a team, show how they can gain management and leadership skills that they can
take back to their place of work. Tell them that they with meet new friends and get so much enjoyment
18 - Royal Arch after two years of lockdowns.
We stand for integrity, friendship, respect, charity - a moral code. We have a story to tell and there are
hundreds of men that are ready to listen.
       22 - Membership
My membership team will be taking this message out across Essex later this year. We will be pushing
potential initiates towards your Lodges - if you have signed up to the Pathway scheme.
       24 - Cornerstone
Our community has decent men who need to receive our messages in different ways. They don’t know
who to talk to about Freemasonry, so we have to reach out to them.
26 - Mark Masonry In the next few months my Executive team will be doing just that, but we all need everyone to play
their part. Let the world know that you are a Freemason. Be prepared to answer questions. Speak with
                               enthusiasm about our incredible organisation.
       29 - General Interest
I am determined that Essex Freemasonry will grow and thrive under my watch. I need to have you with
                               me on this journey.
