Christmas jumpers, Russian dancers and unlimited vodka, just another spectacular Essex Cornerstone Lodge
meeting and Festive Board!
In December, W.Bro Reiss Duthie was installed as Lodge Master. Reiss was a founding member of the Club and past Club
President. During the ceremony The Provincial Grand Master helped as SW, The DeptPGM as the JW along with other
members of the Executive playing a part. After the meeting the 110 members and guests were treated to a live video
call with the Grand Master of Russia, Andrey Bogdanov, who gave us all an insight into Freemasonry in Russia and the
fraternal links that we share. We all raised a glass or 3 of vodka toasting to the Craft before heading off to the Festive
Board.
The Lodge made a donation of £2022 to the Essex Festival, the donation meant the Lodge was awarded Grand Patron
status. The Lodge Secretary announced that nine Club & Lodge members were to be appointed as Provincial Grand
Stewards in March along with two Assistant Director of Ceremonies, a fantastic achievement for Essex Cornerstone.

Festive Board, where everyone wore
their Christmas jumpers, Russian Kossack
dancers wowed the Brethren with
their impressive moves then a Russian
themed 3 course meal was served. The
Provincial Grand Master said ‘This Lodge
has become a Pillar of the Province’, he
then went on to serenade guests with
the Master’s song. We raised a brilliant
£1900.

2022 and beyond

In February the Club will be hosting its Annual Members’ Dinner at the House of Commons. This event has
already sold out but we are operating a waiting list for members who would like to attend.
March will see the petition of the new Essex Cornerstone Chapter signed and submitted. If you’d like to be a
