Provincial - NHS Day #UGLENHSDay

       How the Essex Provincial Stewards
Celebrated NHS Day by Danny Gearing

After weeks of precision organisation, the 5th July 2021 was upon us. Having heard in the early morning news
that the NHS had been awarded the George Cross, it was a fi tting tribute that the Essex Provincial Grand
Stewards had arrange to promote, support and thank our wonderful NHS.

Brimming with confi dence, pride and enthusiasm, four of us left home
at 5am and met at Braintree Masonic Hall to decorate Ian’s taxi. After
Geoff promoted the advertisement and signage and forewarned all
those we would be visiting, that we had a glorious branded cab, he
became panic-stricken as the signs fl ew of the cab whilst driving down
the motorway and almost caused an accident.
Like a scene in TV’s The Apprentice, at 7am while in the back of the
cab, we called our contacts to try and obtain new signage that could
be available within the hour and ready for when we arrived at Great
       Queen Street. Freemasons’ Hall -
                                                                            Gt. Queen Street
As an alternative, we planned to ransack the nearest hospital.

Multitasking, we decided to blow up some balloons while being driven down the A12. Another great idea by our
project manager – each time a balloon burst, the driver nearly crashed.
We arrived at Great Queen Street at 8.45am, with fresh new signage and, after decorating the cab (again), we
posed for some photos and set off to collect some helium, en route to Chingford.
