Originally he was tasked with implementing our Past Provincial Grand Masters vision for
Essex Freemasonry, but after Rodney’s sad passing in July last year he took over as the
4 - Provincial Deputy Provincial Grand Master in Charge of the Province of Essex, a formidable task
particularly during a global pandemic. He has fulfi lled his obligations and much more, in
very diffi cult circumstances, and has led this Province in a very capable and distinguished
manner with great care and humility.
16 - Charity
Our Province is in great shape, and that is due in no small measure to the selfl ess efforts of
VW.Bro. Paul, and it is appropriate that we thank him for everything he has been doing
over the past six years and for the changes he has made to our Province, making it the safe

happy place it is now. Thank you, VW.Bro. Paul, and we all wish you every success with your
treatment in the weeks ahead.
22 - Almoner The pandemic has seriously impacted the amount of money Lodges and Chapters were
able to raise for the festival and we need to catch up. We have millions of pounds in Relief
Chests that was collected for charity and I simply urge you please use some of it and support
our Provincial Grand Charity Steward W.Bro. Colin Felton and his plans to save the festival.
24 - Cornerstone
Many of you will be attending the Investiture of our new Provincial Grand Master and Grand
Superintendent, W.Bro. Paul Tarrant, on the 9th September and I am certain I speak for us all
as we wish him every success in the coming years. It will be a big day for the Province and I
26 - Mark Masonry look forward to seeing you there.
Brethren please stay safe.
