lthough the world of Freemasonry had stopped for well over a year, the club committee thought it was
Aimportant not to shut up shop and wait for this to all blow over. We did not want to standstill, so thought it
right to continue to engage and inform our members during lockdown to keep them busy during the challenging
times. Our last face-to-face event was a long time ago, at the Churchill War rooms, and was probably the last time
some of us wore a suit! Autumn
During the pandemic we have run a number of charity initiatives such as launching an NHS electronic tablet appeal,
providing Laptops for schools as well as charity poker and gaming nights. We have made the most of online tools
including holding events with special guests including the Grand Secretary and Pro-Grand Master. We also held a
brilliant virtual Whiskey tasting evening, ensuring that there was something for everyone.
Now that freemasonry is resuming, we can look forward to meeting again and the Club Committee have a series of
events lined up for the rest of 2021 as well as our rescheduled Annual Dinner at the House of Commons early in 2022.
If you are a club member who would like at attend the Annual Dinner, we have a handful of tickets now available to
purchase. Please email Jon@essexcornerstone.com for payment details. Ball
