support staff in the best way possible, by offering somewhere quiet to go
and refl ect, access to well-being materials and even support counselling
services which is critical during these COVID times.
The well-being campaign has allowed the hospital to fund a space at each
site for staff to go away from the clinical areas, rest and take a break. The
hospital provides refreshments, a calming environment and also 1-2-1
counselling. The hospital encouraged well-being within the Trust creating
well-being buddy’s and provided mental health fi rst aid training courses.
Please see attached a couple of photos of the area at Basildon which has
two quiet areas, rooms for counselling, a fully fi tted kitchen and two fantastic
ladies, as well as the support of volunteers, to ensure the staff are looked
after.
