Ken Headworth celebrates 50 years during Rule of 6

W.Bro. Ken Headworth, PSGD, was Advanced into Aurelius Mark Master Masons Lodge on the 9th of October 1970, and
it was a fitting tribute to Ken should be Worshipful Master during his 50th year.
Unbeknown to Ken, the Lodge members had made arrangements to honour him, but
unfortunately Covid-19 having put the plans on hold, the Lodge were determined to honour
                                him in some way.
They were due to receive an official visit from the Provincial Grand Master Right Worshipful
Brother Terence D. Sheern, accompanied by his Executive and Active Officers but this has had
                                to be postponed.
This, however, did not prevent the PGM from writing to Ken to congratulate him on his
achievement in the Mark Degree, and saying that he hoped to be able to visit Ken and present
him with his 50-year certificate in the near future.
AS the Lodge were not able to hold a proper celebration for Ken, he was presented with a
50-year celebration cake to mark the occasion. The letter from the PGM was read to Ken inn
open Lodge, and the Brethren joined in expressing their best wishes to Ken.
As a further mark of respect to Ken, the PGM promoted him to Past Provincial Grand Senior
                                Warden.
Although Ken is a Grand Officer the PGM wanted the records to show that the Province had bestowed the highest rank
possible on one of its members and went onto wish Ken all the very best and hoped he enjoyed his cake.

Ken thanked the Lodge members present and
informed them that he had also received a
personal letter from the PGM as well as the
one read out in Lodge and was a loss for
words at the honour bestowed on him.
He thanked everyone for the cake, which
he offered to share with everyone after the
         meeting.

Ken has been Worshipful Master on three
occasions, served as Treasurer, Secretary and
Director of Ceremonies and continues to
perform ceremonies to a first-class level.
Ken is a member of Colvin Lodge No.5374
where he celebrated 50 years as a Craft Mason
         in 2018.
